“We do not forget about traditional partners but we consider it extremely important for Russian entrepreneurship to develop partnerships in the eastern direction”- said Sergey Katyrin, the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, described the ongoing business mission to Indonesia.
Within the framework of the event Sergey Katyrin met with the head of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rosan Perkasa Ruslani. The Russian side was attended by Lyudmila Vorobyeva, Russian Ambassador to Indonesia; Mikhail Kuritsin, Chairman of the Business Council for Cooperation with Indonesia; Konstantin Tarasov, Executive secretary of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council; Sergei Rossomakhov, Russian trade representative; Sergey Bednov, General Director of Expocentre JSC and the representatives of regional Chambers of commerce.
The head of the Indonesian Chamber presented the tasks that the country's economy is solving today and spoke about the work of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. One of its main tasks is to support and develop small and medium-sized businesses. The Indonesian side supported the expansion of interaction with Russian business and considered it necessary to use a variety of tools for this- stressed Rosan Perkasa Ruslani.
During the meeting the sides discussed the state of business cooperation based on information presented by Mikhail Kuritsyn, the Chairman of the Business Council for Cooperation with Indonesia. Didit Ratan, the Head of the Committee for Cooperation with Russia at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted the lack of information about the conditions for doing business in Russia and problems finding partners.
Sergey Katyrin stressed the importance of organizing interaction at the regional level and the need to use the opportunities of the Chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries for the development of regional cooperation. He invited the head of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 6-8 of this year and the Eastern Economic Forum on September 4-6 in Vladivostok where the Russia-ASEAN Business Council will organize events dedicated to the topic of cooperation with ASEAN countries.
Rosan Perkasa Ruslani gratefully accepted the invitation and expressed hope for the participation of Russian companies in the international exhibition Trade Expo in Jakarta in October of this year.
